ABOUT  THE ARTIST:

S.K. Dapoz is a multimedia artist who lives and works in the Heartland. She is a self-taught artist who has been ”doing” art for over 30 years, specializing in several art forms, including mixed media, photography, jewelry-making, web and graphic design. Her works can be found in personal and corporate collections in several countries. The Greenfield, Indiana Chamber of Commerce is presenting her first solo art show May-July, 2007.

She says “My family is chock-full of artists, and after fighting it for a number of years, I decided to give in and spend the “second-half” of my life trying to earn a living from what I find most rewarding, exciting and stimulating in life: the marriage of thought and image.”  Inspirations include poetry (which she also writes), art, literature, music,  memory, dreams, travel, people, philosophy and current events.

Her own unique vision of art as a means of self-expression includes the belief that the prevailing view that one has to be angst-ridden to be a creative and successful artist is, in her own words, “bunk.”
